The best things about living in NYC are the endless activities going on every weekend; especially now that Spring / Summer is upon us.
This morning we headed downtown to the TriBeCa Family Festival , a street fair offshoot of the Film Festival (still annoyed that I didn’t get to catch the screening of Before Midnight). The fair was in full swing when we got there just after 11.
Did I mention how much I enjoy street fairs; the hustle and bustle, interesting booths (stands) and food trucks!!
There were plenty of activities for kids – face painting, free balloon art, bubbles, live performances and even a toddler play area filled with ikea tents and tunnels (etc.). Unfortunately C was a tad young (and impatient), we didn’t get around to queuing for the face painting. Next year I should put my Singaporean kiasuism to good use and head there for 10am. Just kidding!
After loading up on sweet and pop corn, C promptly fell asleep and allowed Mr. P and I to take a nice stroll in the sun through the rest of the fair.
How cool is this?
And very obviously one of the most popular exhibit – a retro fire truck.
Even though C was sleeping, we couldn’t really spend time queuing at various food trucks since it was baking hot (noon sun); we didn’t want to risk waking her up in that heat. The Kimchi Taco truck looked amazing, I need to find this one of these days.
